Event Security Officer – Beer Gardens & Special Events
Job Overview
We are seeking dependable and professional Event Security Officers to join our seasonal event security team. Officers will work county fairs, festivals, concerts, beer gardens, and other public events throughout the summer. This role is critical to ensuring a safe, organized, and enjoyable environment for guests, vendors, and staff.
Ideal candidates are observant, customer-service oriented, and capable of enforcing event rules while maintaining a friendly and professional presence. Primary duties include ID verification for alcohol service areas, crowd management, access control, and general event security operations.
This position offers high scheduling flexibility. Shifts are posted in advance, and officers select assignments that fit their availability. Supervisors approve schedules to meet client requirements. Most shifts occur during evenings and weekends, and officers must be prepared to work until events conclude, as end times may vary based on crowd size and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Verify government-issued identification for entry into beer gardens and alcohol-restricted areas
Enforce alcohol policies and event rules in accordance with local and state regulations
Monitor crowd behavior and manage guest flow to prevent overcrowding or unsafe conditions
Patrol assigned areas to ensure safety, security, and rule compliance
Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies
De-escalate conflicts using verbal communication and conflict-management techniques
Control access points, entrances, exits, and restricted areas
Observe and report suspicious activity or safety hazards
Assist with loss prevention and property protection
Provide basic first aid and CPR assistance when necessary
Maintain accurate written logs of incidents, activities, and observations
Communicate and coordinate with event staff, supervisors, and law enforcement when required
Qualifications
Prior security, event staff, or customer service experience preferred but not required
Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced, high-crowd environments
Strong verbal communication and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to follow post orders, policies, and client instructions
Capable of standing and walking for extended periods, including outdoor work in summer conditions
Reliable transportation to various event locations (mileage reimbursed when applicable)
Flexible availability; shift end times may change based on event conditions
CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
